The Lucas Society Ministry began as a prayer in the heart of Dr. Silvia Ricardo to help families with limited resources in the country to obtain the medical attention they so desperately need but cannot afford due to the high cost of these services, and with the desire to also bring the gospel of Jesus to these people.
The Answer of God
In His love and compassion, God answered this prayer, and in 1991, a small clinic was opened in the Los Angeles community in Santo Domingo
Since then, with a clear goal and vision of helping families with limited resources in the Dominican Republic to escape the extreme poverty in which they live, God, through the support of churches, companies, and individuals, has expanded the ministry by adding different programs, allowing these families to access the medical, education, and housing services they so desperately need and providing for every need that arises, in addition to being reached by the gospel and receiving Jesus as their Savior.
God’s Support
Through the years, God has been showing His love and care to those who otherwise could not be reached, and His faithfulness has become evident in each of the programs, and we know and have faith that we will continue to see His faithfulness and love in the years to come.
